A major healthcare provider in Leeds is seeking a motivated Senior Specialist Radiographer for Quality & Safety. The successful candidate will develop MRI services while ensuring compliance with high standards. This full-time role offers competitive pay between £47,810 to £54,710 and the opportunity to make a significant impact in one of the largest MRI departments in the UK. We have an opportunity for a flexible, enthusiastic, motivated Radiographer to join our friendly, dedicated team of MRI Radiographers as Senior Specialist Radiographer for Quality & Safety.
Leeds MRI has undertaken a major service expansion, increasing the number of MRI scanners across the city. We therefore have a fantastic opportunity for a flexible, enthusiastic, motivated Radiographer with specialist interest in Quality & Safety to join our friendly, dedicated team in one of the largest MRI departments in the UK.
Successful candidates will be expected to join our electronic rostering system which includes flexible shifts, weekend working and a busy on-call. Please note car-parking at both SJUH and LGI is limited. The department operates between 7.30am and 8pm, 7 days a week and our standard rostering is through allocation of 12.5hr shifts, however flexible working requests are accommodated, where possible, for those who require them.

The role of Senior Specialist MRI Radiographer for Quality & Safety is a diverse one. The successful candidate will work closely with radiologists, Service Lead and the other senior Radiographers to develop the MRI service, as well as supporting senior management in day to day service delivery. The successful candidate must have significant experience of MRI and a high level of knowledge in areas of MRI safety and governance.
The role will include duties within the following areas
The role will be focused on supporting the department to maintain high standards of quality in all areas of governance, supporting the Lead Radiographer, Team Managers and Clinical Educator to ensure the department is compliant operationally. The candidate should have a conscientious and forward thinking mindset with a high attention to detail, there must also be a excellent time management and ability to disseminate information in a wide range of formats to clinical and non clinical staff.
The department is based across 2 sites, St James University Hospital (SJUH) and Leeds General Infirmary (LGI). LGI is a major trauma and neuro-surgical centre as well as the home of the Leeds Childrens Hospital, and SJUH a world renowned oncology and transplant centre, and one of the largest teaching hospitals in Europe. The MRI departments support a range of specialties including neurosurgery, paediatrics, liver, oncology, urology, abdominal and vascular surgery. MRI in Leeds is a diverse and interesting department to work for, with Radiographers working closely with clinical teams to support advanced imaging, particularly in Neurosciences, Paediatrics, Oncology and Liver Imaging.
The MRI department has 4 scanners on the St Jamess site - 1 x 1.5T Siemens Aera, 3 x 1.5T Siemens Sola. The Leeds General Infirmary is equipped with 2 x 1.5T Siemens Sola, 1 x 3T Siemens Vida and 1x 3T GE intraoperative MRI suite.
