Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Specialist Enterprise Analytics to join our global team.

Team and Job Purpose

Across all sectors AI Data and Digital are critical enablers that help organisations deliver better quality work based on sound decision making and driving efficiency. This is as important if not more critical in the development sector where every $ counts towards supporting the needs of children. There are many systems and tools across the organisation that are used to generate, store and communicate data and information as well as pockets of capabilities and processes that focus on driving continuous improvement. Alongside this and based on this rich data landscape Digital Programming or ICT4D (information and communication technology for development) is the application of technology for the delivery of programmes for children. Technology can range from bespoke for a specific purpose or a standard off‑the‑shelf digital tool or application. It may be deployed in the field as part of a programme delivery (front office) or form part of the programme development cycle (back office). Similarly it could also focus on an enabling technology required to allow further digital developments e.g. connectivity infrastructure changes etc. Bringing these together and maximising benefit from evolving AI technologies to support programme delivery data and analytics operational delivery a single unit drives quality delivery and ensures a fully joined up approach.

To ensure we focus our resource and capabilities in the best way to maximise value a fit for purpose strategy based on our overarching global strategy is key enabling us to accelerate on priority areas and balance scale with local needs.

Role purpose

The purpose of this role is to conceptualise design and deliver complex enterprise level quantitative analyses to inform data‑driven decision making across the enterprise. The post‑holder will work with Transformation Delivery Teams, IT teams, Value For Money Specialists and Program Quality and Impact Teams and other teams/departments across the organisation to ensure that relevant data (e.g. our programme units costs cost‑efficiency cost‑effectiveness aggregate impact) are evidenced globally and expected forward‑looking results are projected based on our best knowledge to help continually improve the quality of our programming for children. They will be responsible for analysing our programme and business function cost results and business data. They will engage in the development of the current and future state processes for measuring these data fields and bridge the gap between projects and the relevant functions and IT (where relevant).

Principal Accountabilities

• Use existing datasets to generate analyses and insights into key business questions across multiple domains including value for money (mapping of unit costs per child of different interventions and related explanatory variables and patterns) and other analytical areas as required by the business
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to elicit, analyse, translate and document data use requirements and analysis approaches for multiple analytics applications (e.g. more efficiently measuring programme cost‑efficiency and cost‑effectiveness etc)
• Work within a project team to deliver incremental business value to users
• Identify any potential conflicting business requirements, definition gaps, dependencies between projects and elevate to project manager to formulate a resolution plan
• Support the prioritisation of design requirements with the project team with an informed understanding of the impact to the organisation
• Maintain accurate version‑controlled documentation over the project lifecycle which is readily available to key stakeholders and ensure the knowledge is disseminated

Experience and Skills

Essential

• Strong quantitative analysis skills
• Ability to understand and manage stakeholder requirements / drivers and project expectations
• Strong business judgement and experience to create forward‑looking analytical models that assess likely outcomes of potential business decisions
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to transform MEAL cost and other data into existing Power BI dashboards to track unit cost per output / outcome by thematic portfolio
• Experience of designing replicable prototypes of analytical models from multiple data domains for the software developers
• Excellent technical documentation skills including data cleaning and transformation steps to identify analytical results (e.g. cost drivers, outliers, expenditure trends & opportunities for cost‑saving / avoidance)
• Experience of creating standardised data analytical models and charting templates for automation / repeated use
• Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic and able to take the initiative and ownership to deliver value to the business

Desirable

• Non‑profit sector knowledge / experience (especially international development projects)
• Experience working on digital transformation projects
• Knowledge of Azure / AWS text labelling process to prepare cost models for machine assisted learning programmes
• Second language French, Spanish or Arabic
