Senior Software Developer

Salary - £52,000-£60,000

Location - Rochdale / Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our engineering team and play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, cloud-native applications. You will work across the full stack using modern technologies and contribute to architectural decisions, code quality, and engineering best practices.

This role requires prior experience in a senior developer position, with a proven track record of delivering production systems and mentoring other developers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable applications using .NET (latest versions) and React
  • Build and operate cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure
  • Develop, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes
  • Contribute to system architecture, technical design, and technology selection
  • Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices
  • Collaborate closely with managers, dev ops, and other engineers
  • Mentor developers and provide technical leadership
  • Participate in CI / CD pipeline development and infrastructure automation
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and improve performance, reliability, and security
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends

Your experience
  • Previous experience in a Senior Software Developer (or equivalent) role
  • Strong professional experience with C# and the latest .NET framework
  • Experience of Design Patterns in C#
  • Solid experience building modern front-end applications with React
  • Strong Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure and services while leading on architecture
  • Experience deploying and operating applications in Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
  • Experience with CI / CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Proficiency with Git / Azure Dev Ops and collaborative development workflows
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Bicep, ARM, Terraform)
  • Knowledge of Azure services such such as App Services, AKS, Redis
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks
  • Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum teams
