Vitalis are recruiting within for a Qualified Social Worker to work in a Children in Care Team in Wakefield Council. Wakefield Children in Care Service is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Social Worker to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who are looked after or subject to care proceedings. As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a key role in ensuring that children in care receive the highest standard of support and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hold responsibility for a caseload of looked after children and some children subject to care proceedings.
  • Undertake statutory duties in line with the Children Act 1989 and related legislation.
  • Develop and implement care plans that promote stability, permanency, and positive outcomes for children.
  • Work closely with families, carers, and multi‑agency partners to ensure holistic support.
  • Prepare high‑quality reports for court and attend hearings as required.
