Senior Social Worker - Locality Team

Wakefield Metropolitan District Council is looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our busy Locality Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to make a real difference in the lives of children and families in the Wakefield area.

The Role

As a Senior Social Worker in our Locality Team, you will be responsible for a varied caseload focused on Assessment and Child Protection. This is a fast-paced and rewarding role where you will be tasked with undertaking comprehensive assessments, developing robust child protection plans, and providing ongoing support to vulnerable children and their families.

The team operates on a duty rota, and you will be required to be on duty for one week in every four. You will play a crucial role in responding to new referrals and ensuring the immediate safety of children in our community.

  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • A relevant Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
