Job summary

A roofing subcontractor in the UK is looking for a Commercial Manager to oversee commercial aspects of roofing projects from tender to final account. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in roofing, knowledge of contract forms, and will effectively manage project performance. A degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction is preferred. This role includes a salary of £80,000 to £100,000 plus a car allowance.

Responsibilities

• Client-facing with a professional, solution-focused approach.
• Manage commercial aspects of roofing projects from tender to final account.
• Support pre-construction with enquiries, take-offs, and pricing.
• Lead subcontract procurement and contract administration.
• Monitor project performance, valuations, variations, and change control.
• Work with operations teams to maintain cost, quality, and programme.
• Produce accurate monthly CVRs and forecasts.
• Ensure commercial procedure compliance and implement improvements.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Support handovers, final accounts, and project sign-off.

Skills

Experience as a Commercial Manager within a roofing subcontractor environment

Strong understanding of flat and pitched roofing, cladding, and envelope systems

Excellent knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract

Skilled in cost control, forecasting, and CVRs

Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial tools

Full UK Driving Licence

Education

Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction (preferred)
