Bristol City Council's Children Residential Service offers a leadership opportunity as a Senior Residential Child Care Worker, providing therapeutic care experiences for children with complex needs. This is a chance to develop a leadership role within a children\'s home.

About us:

At Bristol City Council, we have moved toward smaller homes for 2 to 3 children to provide personalised care that matches placements and creates a homely environment. Our trauma-informed approach supports each child\'s unique needs, empowering them to thrive. We serve children up to 18 years old with complex needs, including SEMH needs, learning difficulties, and challenging behaviour. Responsibilities
  • Supervisory Role: Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager by supervising staff and contributing to the management team.
  • Therapeutic Care: Provide a therapeutic care experience within smaller children\'s homes.
  • Complex Needs: Work with children up to 18 years old with complex needs, including SEMH needs, learning difficulties, and challenging behaviour.
  • Rota based shifts: You will need to be able to work shifts on a rota basis, to include nights, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. In addition to basic pay, you will be paid for shift work, sleep-in duties, and for working on Bank Holidays.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Essential criteria as outlined in the Person Specification (submissions should evidence education and training, and previous employment history).
  • Role requires applicants to have the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent (including NVQ 3 Health and Social and Level 3 Children and Young People\'s Workforce diploma).
