About the role

We seek an individual with a strong track record in global mental research with interests in developing interventions, particularly psychological and clinical interventions. The ideal candidate should have a background or training in psychological or clinical mental health sciences.

Teaching is integral to the work of the institute. We have a large portfolio of masters level and undergraduate teaching in global health. We have recently expanded our research in global mental health and will be starting a new MSc course in September. The ideal candidate will be expected to support the new MSc and develop a portfolio of teaching in global mental health that complements and is informed by research.

We particularly welcome applications from individuals from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds and from women.

This is a full‑time role ( hours per week) and it is available for three years.

Salary range : £54, to £63, per annum (including London Allowance), depending on experience.

About you

It is essential that the successful candidate has a PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area (clinical mental health sciences, clinical psychology, psychiatric sciences or equivalent).

Also essential to have a strong track record in global mental research with interests in developing interventions, particularly psychological and clinical interventions and a background or training in psychological or clinical mental health sciences.

The ideal candidate will have experience of co‑developing ideas and contributing to grant submissions for funding as co‑applicant or principal applicant and experience of high quality delivery of research‑based teaching at undergraduate and / or postgraduate level.

The role requires that the post holder has evidence of contributions to peer review bodies / committees, professional organisations, learned societies, government committees or Research Councils etc.
