Job description

DC Byte is the leading provider of market data, research, and intelligence for the global data centre sector.

At the heart of an industry that quietly keeps the world connected, our technology-led platform empowers the key players designing and developing digital infrastructure to make high-stakes, multi-billion-pound investment and strategy decisions.

We deliver the most accurate, real-time, and unbiased insights into colocation and self-build enterprise assets worldwide—supporting developers, investors, and operators, including the world’s largest hyperscalers.

As a private company operating in a high-growth sector, DC Byte has consistently expanded its global footprint. We are now seeking a world-class Research Analyst to help drive our next phase of international growth and innovation.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Research Analyst to join our team, specialising in data centre market intelligence. This role is ideal for candidates who have experience in data collection, analysis, and relationship-building, who are keen to join a fast‑growing company and small but ambitious team.

As a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for the collection, accuracy, and quality of the market data DC Byte provides in 2-3 markets in the EMEA region. The role involves both data analysis and presentation, working closely with our clients as they shape their data centre and investment strategies. You should also expect to travel to conferences and data centre sites within your market a few times a year.

About you

You have 1-2 years of experience in the real estate or data centre sector, although we welcome applications from candidates with a variety of backgrounds. We think you would most likely succeed in this role if you have worked for a real estate firm or data centre operator, but if you have gained knowledge about these sectors in an adjacent role that’s also fine - for example, as a market or government researcher, in an energy company or working for a think tank.

You excel at networking and thrive in environments where relationship‑building is key - ideally, you already have established connections within the data centre industry. You possess strong analytical skills, with a particular emphasis on market research and data collection, and you are able to communicate complex insights clearly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Data Collection

  • Conduct comprehensive market research across the data centre sector, gathering relevant qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Source and verify information from primary and secondary channels, including industry reports, public records, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintain accurate databases and track market developments to ensure up‑to‑date insights.

Market Analysis

  • Analyse collected data to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive reports and presentations summarising research findings.
  • Support forecasting to inform business development and investment strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement & Networking

  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships within the data centre industry.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand knowledge and connections.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support data collection and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience in the data centre sector preferred; equivalent experience in real estate, market research, civil service, energy, or think tanks considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate preferred; alternatively, International Relations, International Business, Geography, Urban Studies, or Construction Management.
  • Strong networking skills, ideally with existing industry connections in the data centre sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in data collection, market research, and analysis (non‑technical/data science).
  • Proficiency in French and/or Arabic desirable, but not required

  • Taking time off seriously: We do our best work when we take our time off just as seriously – we’re not always on, offer a generous annual leave allowance, and close the office between Christmas and New Year.
Benefits (UK)
  • 25 days annual leave (excl. bank holidays), increasing to up to 29 days
