Job title: Senior Radiographer
Hours: Monday‑Sunday, 36 hours a week, 3x12hr Shifts
Location: Yeovil

Position Summary

InHealth sees more than 5 million patients each year and diagnostic imaging is one of the busiest services that we provide. Following the Michael Richards report, we are partnering with the NHS to develop new Community Diagnostic Centres to support this vision. We are looking to recruit a Senior Radiographer in Yeovil to support this nationwide programme, enhancing the availability of diagnostic radiography in the community while advancing your own career. This role will work across MRI, CT and X‑ray, encouraging development of skills in all modalities.

Main responsibilities
  • Ensure patients receive the best standard of care while generating high‑quality images to support their healthcare pathway.
  • Carry out modality‑specific imaging procedures to the best practice standards of radiographic techniques.
  • Provide a great experience for patients from referral to results, supporting them through the process.
  • Run quality assurance checks on equipment and take appropriate action.
  • Respect patients’ and service users’ customs, values and spiritual beliefs, ensuring their views are taken into account.
  • Perform triage functions of referrals, as required.
  • Support patient bookings and maintain accurate, up‑to‑date information in patient information systems.
  • Complete competency assessments.
  • Adhere to all operational procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Act as a practice educator, assisting placement students and colleagues in achieving their learning outcomes and departmental development.
  • Share knowledge and clinical experience with the wider team to support each other’s growth and development.

Qualifications
  • BSc Radiography or equivalent.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body and a valid HCPC registration.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental MRI and CT physics and different scanning techniques and sequences.
  • Knowledge of radiographers’ role regarding the care of patients, their careers and other colleagues.
  • High level of professionalism and technical standard of work.
  • Aptitude towards improving quality.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of GDPR, Caldicott Principles and the Data Protection Act.
  • Flexible approach to work, able to work across 7 days.
  • Strong team‑player attitude, supportive, caring, reliable and trustworthy.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Positive attitude, taking pride in work and passionate about the service provided.
Experience
  • Experience working with MRI and CT equipment in a hospital or mobile setting.
  • Experience with routine and complex MRI and CT examinations.
  • Experience in infection control training, manual handling and basic life support.
  • Experience scanning with contrast.
  • Knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures for imaging equipment.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience supporting other team members’ development and training.
