Senior Radiographer

Are you looking for a change of scenery or a new challenge? We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated Radiographers to join our dynamic, friendly team and play a key role in maintaining and improving standards and quality of patient services.

Manchester University Hospital Foundation (MFT) is located in the heart of the vibrant city of Manchester, which was named the best UK city to live in The Economist’s “Global Liveability Index” 2018. It is an exciting time to join the team, with the implementation of a new PACS system and a wide scale equipment replacement programme.

Main duties of the job

The post is based on the Trafford site and includes training and rotation through general X‑ray, theatre and mobile imaging, fluoroscopy and CT (full‑time post only), as well as to Altrincham and CT service at the Withington Community Hospital site (full‑time post only). Candidates should have at least 18 months radiographic experience post‑qualification.

We are a busy teaching hospital and major trauma centre with around 145,000 patients visiting our Emergency Department each year. The Radiology department offers a small, friendly facility with opportunities to develop skills across all areas of general radiography, general radiographers to CT, and specialist pathways.

Responsibilities
  • Receive a comprehensive induction and training in all areas.
  • Receive annual appraisals.
  • Receive enhanced remuneration for night duties.
  • Full rotation into CT (full‑time post only) with cannulation skills.
  • Take on a senior role within the Department, supervising junior staff and students.

Must be able to attend in person for interview due to practical element.

Qualifications
  • BSc Radiography or DCR with at least 18 months post‑qualification clinical radiographer experience.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Organised and able to prioritise workload.
  • Flexible.
Knowledge
  • Ability to take a lead role.
  • Work under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of IR(ME)R.
Experience
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum of 18 months clinical experience as a Radiographer post‑qualification.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise.
  • Experience of using EPIC EPR and Sectra PACS.
  • Experience working as a senior radiographer.
