Senior Quantity Surveyor - Major Projects – Manchester

£70,000 to £75,000 + Package

Our client is a leading Tier 1 main contractor delivering complex and high-profile construction projects across the UK. They specialise in large-scale education, healthcare, industrial, and custodial schemes, often through long-term framework agreements. What you will do

• Manage all commercial aspects of allocated projects, ensuring financial targets are achieved.
• Prepare cost forecasts, cash flows, and accurate financial reporting.
• Lead procurement, tendering, and subcontractor management processes.
• Administer contracts, variations, and claims in line with contractual obligations.
• Provide sound commercial advice to project teams and senior management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners.
• Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team.

What you will need to succeed

• Proven experience as a Senior QS with a Tier 1 main contractor.
• Strong background in education, healthcare, industrial, and prison/custodial sectors.
• Track record of delivering projects valued £10m+.
• Excellent knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) and ideally chartered or working towards RICS accreditation.
