Senior Quantity Surveyor - Special Works Division - Main Contractor

Location: Central London

Salary: £85,000 - £95,000 + Benefits

Reporting to: Commercial Director

About the Division

The Special Works division is dedicated to delivering exceptional construction solutions for clients who value precision and outstanding customer service. They specialise in refurbishment and fit‑out projects, typically ranging from £10k to £4m, with the flexibility to take on selected larger schemes.

Operating across commercial, residential, retail, education, and hospitality sectors, they often work within occupied environments, requiring innovative, considerate approaches to ensure minimal disruption and maintain business continuity. Every project is delivered with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

The Role

This is a hands‑on, cradle‑to‑grave commercial role where you will be involved in every stage of the project lifecycle—from work‑winning and bid preparation through to delivery and final account. You will work closely with a highly engaged leadership team and play a key role in shaping the future of the division.

Key Responsibilities

• Full commercial management of projects (typically £1.5m, up to £5m).
• Prepare proposals, bids, and project specifications.
• Collaborate with directors and project teams on scope, risk, and delivery.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure quality standards.
• Mentor and develop future talent as the team expands.
• Contribute to strategic growth and succession planning.

About You

• Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong track record in high‑quality fit‑out or refurbishment projects.
• Comfortable managing projects independently without assistants.
• Excellent commercial and risk management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional results.
• Ambitious, with a clear path to Commercial Director as part of succession planning.
