Responsibilities

  • Lead the project's commercial support throughout the client stage gate process.
  • Support estimating and value assessments at various stage gates.
  • Provide commercial support during main contract procurement.
  • Maintain within financial governance and input to contract governance proposals.
  • Produce Monthly Cost Forecast Reports and manage budget issues.
  • Oversee review of payment applications and invoices for audit requirements.
  • Ensure timely payments and agreement of the Final Account.
  • Resolve claims and provide commercial advice to the business.
  • Administer contracts including correspondence and monitoring contractor performance.
  • Ensure value for money.

Overview

Senior Quantity Surveyor

£450 p/d inside IR35 • 6 month initial contract • Senior QS opportunities (Water sector)

They will require some travel to Beckton (East London) and occasionally to Reading, but it is flexible.

Location and travel

Beckton, East London with occasional travel to Reading; travel is flexible.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the project\'s commercial support as it progresses through the client stage gate process. Work with the project team to focus on commercial management and assurance.
  • Support the estimating process and value for money assessments that are required at various stage gates.
  • Provide commercial support during procurement of a main contract, as well as any surveys that are required as part of the pre-contract design development.
  • Ensure we always maintain within financial governance provide input to financial and contract governance proposals
  • Produce Monthly Cost Forecast Reports ensuring cost management against the budget and highlighting and issues early, manage and report on contingency / risk updates.
  • Oversee the review of monthly payment applications and invoices identify cost audit requirements ensure cost applied is appropriate against agreed cost, time, and outputs.
  • Ensure that payments are made on time and that Final Account agree in accordance with the Contract.
  • Resolving claims as required, providing commercial advice and guidance to the business and provide advice regarding Purchaser/Project Manager duties and other tasks under the Contract.
  • Contract administration including producing correspondence, responding to Contractor\'s correspondence, monitor/recording change, risk, contractor performance and communicate contractual lessons learnt.
  • Ensure value for money.
  • Provide commercial advice and guidance to other team members as required
