Civil Infrastructure (Nuclear Sector)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager (Construction) to oversee the delivery of civil infrastructure projects within the nuclear sector. This role is responsible for leading construction activities on‑site, ensuring projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will manage multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders to drive excellence in construction delivery under stringent nuclear regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Delivery – Lead construction execution across nuclear civil infrastructure frameworks.
  • Manage site operations, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Oversee construction sequencing, logistics, and resource allocation.
  • Team & Stakeholder Leadership – Direct and motivate site teams, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities during construction.
  • Provide clear communication and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Technical & Quality Oversight – Ensure construction works comply with nuclear safety standards, design specifications, and industry codes.
  • Implement robust quality assurance and inspection regimes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in construction methodologies and digital site management tools.
  • Commercial & Contractual – Manage construction contracts, variations, and claims.
  • Monitor project costs, cash flow, and financial performance.
  • Support procurement and supply chain management during construction phases.
  • Risk & Compliance – Identify and mitigate construction risks, including safety, environmental, and regulatory challenges.
  • Ensure strict compliance with nuclear regulatory frameworks and HSE policies.
  • Champion a culture of safety and sustainability on site.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline (Chartered status preferred).
  • 10+ years' experience in construction project management within civil infrastructure, ideally in nuclear or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Proven track record of delivering large‑scale, complex construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear safety standards, construction regulations, and quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management and construction software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, BIM tools).
