Job description
Description

At AXA Health, we have a new opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our risk and regulatory portfolio on a 6-month fixed term contract. You’ll work closely with the Delivery Lead, third party suppliers, internal delivery teams and stakeholders to collaboratively deliver a major upgrade of a key technology for AXA.

Reporting to the Delivery Lead, you’ll set up and drive project meetings, capturing, driving and monitoring issues and risks. You’ll work across the project team to ensure delivery of required outcomes to time, cost and quality.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attendance at one of our office locations.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Managing third party delivery partners and internal delivery teams to ensure a successful project outcome that enables desired benefits.
  • Identifying and proactively managing project stakeholders, including third parties, ensuring effective engagement at all levels.
  • Reporting progress at regular intervals, advising project steering committee of any deviation from the plan, escalating risks and issues as appropriate.
  • Responsibility for ensuring that issues, risks and dependencies are identified, owned, managed, mitigated, resolved or accepted as appropriate.
  • Managing internal and external project communication, including managing information flows between governance layers and any internal or external teams or suppliers.
  • Implementing the agreed governance framework and producing relevant artefacts, in line with the project governance requirements.
  • Tracking and controlling project spend, reporting costs and raising appropriate escalations where needed.

Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we’re able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you’re interested in joining us at AXA, please don’t hesitate to apply.

What you’ll bring:
  • An industry recognised project management qualification e.g. APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) with demonstrable project management experience.
  • Ability to influence, bring teams together and work collaboratively towards a goal.
  • Exceptional stakeholder and third‑party management experience essential.
  • Demonstrable experience of implementing large, complex technology interventions preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently using initiative and judgement to make decisions, whilst also informing and escalating appropriately.
  • Experience of planning, budgeting and business case preparation for complex, large-scale projects.
  • Confidence working in a collaborative team environment, balancing support and challenge to get the job done.

Internal candidates with the required qualifications and experience are encouraged to apply for this role as a secondment opportunity through the internal careers site.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
