About the Company

Our client is a respected Central London main contractor specialising in high-end residential, student accommodation, commercial office, and hotel refurbishment projects. Known for delivering complex schemes with exceptional quality and attention to detail, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a flagship £35m hotel refurbishment in the West End.

Role Overview

The Senior Project Manager will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of a multi-phase hotel refurbishment, ensuring the project is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This is a leadership position requiring strong client-facing skills, exceptional technical knowledge, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams on a high-profile, logistically challenging Central London site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through to handover.
  • Develop and manage the project programme, ensuring key milestones are achieved.
  • Oversee site operations, ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Manage relationships with the client, design team, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Chair progress meetings, produce reports, and maintain effective communication channels.
  • Monitor and control project costs, variations, procurement strategies, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship throughout the refurbishment, particularly within complex live-environment and high-spec hotel settings.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to project teams, including Site Managers, Engineers, and support staff.
  • Resolve technical and delivery challenges with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Uphold the company's reputation for quality, professionalism, and service excellence.
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager delivering refurbishment projects £20m+.
  • Strong track record in hotel, high-end residential, commercial, or large-scale refurbishment schemes.
  • Excellent working knowledge of construction management, building regulations, and modern construction methods.
  • Experience managing complex logistics within tight Central London environments.
  • Skilled in programme management, procurement, H&S, and contract administration (JCT preferred).
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial acumen and ability to work closely with commercial teams to manage budgets and control costs.
  • Ability to drive quality and deliver projects to premium standards.
  • Degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid and other relevant industry accreditations.
