Job Description

Senior Project Directors support the Director in developing the organisation's strategy and delivery of the technical work agenda.

Key accountabilities are:

  • Leading the delivery of a range of projects, including managing and developing project staff, timely delivery of papers to the Board, effective presentation at Board meetings, and meeting project deadlines.
  • Ensuring adherence to due process over the life of the projects.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and may include chairing working groups.
  • Ensure on-going and timely team management and development.
The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Project Director should have:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the wider public interest issues that arise from the work in influencing and adopting IFRS accounting standards for use in the UK.
  • Capacity to comprehend and articulate technical accounting matters to a range of stakeholders.
  • A good understanding of the due processes of the international accounting standard-setting process and related organisations.
  • Able to analyse complex issues and identify salient concerns and solutions
  • A sound understanding of the function of financial reporting in capital markets and the law relating to corporate reporting.
  • Educated to a degree level with a professional or post-degree qualification, with extensive experience post qualification in relevant field e.g. accountancy, company law or financial regulation.
