Leading international engineering and programme management company seeks a proven project controls professional to join them as Senior Project Controls Engineer / Senior Controller.

As Senior Project Controls Engineer / Senior Controller you will support the delivery of a high volume of enhancement projects. As part of a small PMO team (up to six people), this role will provide essential project controls oversight, ensuring strong reporting, governance, risk management, and delivery support across a portfolio of lower‑value but fast‑moving projects.

The Senior Project Controls Engineer / Senior Controller will act as a key point of expertise within a newly formed PMO, advising on best practice project controls while also operating hands‑on, running simple, pragmatic processes that suit a lean delivery environment. The role requires someone confident, structured, and capable of managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide project controls oversight across the enhancements portfolio
  • Maintain accurate schedules, cost tracking, risk logs, and performance reporting
  • Support governance processes, including preparation of reports, dashboards, and assurance artefacts
  • Advise on best practice project controls methods and help embed consistent standards
  • Work closely with project managers to validate progress, risks, and financial forecasts
  • Support continuous improvement of controls processes within the PMO
Ideal Candidate
  • Strong experience in project controls, ideally in infrastructure market (airport, rail, highways etc)
  • Comfortable managing high‑volume, fast‑paced workloads
  • Ability to apply project controls best practice in a pragmatic, proportionate way
  • Confident working in a small, newly established PMO team
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and organisational skills
