Overview

Leading engineering contractor who operates in the energy, highways, and rail sectors, is currently seeking a Senior Planner to join their team in the Midlands.

This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual with significant experience working with tier 1 or tier 2 contractors. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of various infrastructure projects and has the potential to develop into a Planning Manager position as new contracts are awarded.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing cost and resource loaded programmes covering the complete scope of works as per contract
  • Creating and maintaining a robust, logically linked, cost and resource loaded programme
  • Maintaining client expectations from a programme point of view
  • Ensuring the team provides comprehensive programme updates and reviewing work before submission
  • Updating project programmes on a weekly basis where applicable
  • Preparing and submitting weekly site progress photo reports where applicable
  • Carrying out regular programme reviews and ensuring contractual obligations are met
  • Conducting impact assessments and presenting delay programmes, cause and effect programmes
Job Requirements
  • Experience in project planning within the energy, highways, or rail sectors
  • Proficiency in preparing cost and resource loaded programmes
  • Strong understanding of maintaining client expectations and communicating effectively
  • Ability to carry out delay analysis and forensic planning
  • Familiarity with issuing earned value analysis, SPI, CPIs, and implementing robust project controls
  • Experience in supporting and leading planning initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills to collate and present programme information at all levels
  • Ability to resolve cross-functional issues at the planning level
