AHPSuffolk is seeking to support a career in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy across clinics in West Suffolk, including Sudbury, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds. We are interested in candidates who are an aspiring senior Band 5 looking to specialise in MSK physiotherapy or an MSK experienced Band 6 physiotherapist seeking career progression. Preferably 2 years' MSK experience is desirable, though less may be considered based on evidence of skills and capabilities. Responsibilities
  • To assess and treat patients with a wide range of conditions, including acute, complex and/or persistent presentations; determine clinical diagnosis and plan, develop, implement, and evaluate physiotherapy programmes and management plans.
  • To provide self-referral triage, and single point of access/referral triage.
  • To provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment in clinics, health centres, GP surgeries and community hospitals, including first point of contact services as appropriate.
  • To work and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
  • To provide specialist therapeutic input into planning, development, and evaluation of clinical services, with responsibility for defined projects.
  • To provide clinical leadership to junior staff and students within the team, including caseload allocation, appraisal, and managerial supervision.
  • To coach and develop all members of the team using recognised management and training tools and techniques, including the AHP Learning Knowledge and Skills Framework and Personal Development Reviews, to achieve corporate and team objectives.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Health Professions Council registration.
  • Ability to supervise and instruct junior staff and students.
  • Documented evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Standard computer skills including use of Microsoft and e-mail.
  • Effective leadership skills and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Membership of an appropriate professional body.
  • Current professional student practice placement educator training and associated skills.

Experience

  • High level of clinical experience in MSK physiotherapy demonstrating a Health Professions Council registration.
  • Desirable: 24 months' post-graduate MSK experience as a physiotherapist demonstrating a high level of clinical experience; specialist knowledge in musculoskeletal, neurology, orthopaedics and elderly care with related modalities; additional qualifications/training.

  • Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy.
