Currently in the process of further expanding our web services offering, we’re on the lookout for a motivated senior PHP developer to work across a variety of exciting PHP web projects using Laravel and WordPress.

The appointed candidate will have at least five years industry experience, and be involved in carefully crafting beautifully developed, structured websites and web applications that not only look and function exceptionally well, but add real value to our clients’ businesses.

Key Skills

• Fully versed in HTML, CSS, PHP, W3C standards and best coding practices and standards
• Laravel development
• Bespoke WordPress development (inc., Full Site Editor and React)
• API development & integrations
• Git setup, version control and management
• Vanilla JavaScript, Livewire, and React (Vue.js also an advantage)
• Understanding of Cloud Computing (AWS, GCP or Azure)
• Writing technical documentation
• Ability to work as part of a team, and individually where necessary
• Understanding of server structures from a web development perspective such as Plesk, cPanel or similar
• Problem solving and debugging
• Commercial solutions and specification creation
• Client-facing and ability to problem solve in a busy environment

Key Responsibilities

• Heavy focus on backend development and database structures; general understanding and capability with frontend technologies (including Livewire and React)
• Expert in Laravel and WordPress builds, being able to craft either or both to meet client specifications
• Mentoring of junior team members and supporting our technical lead in technical solutions
• Quality checks and verification of code base across our teams
• Data security of solutions and integrations into payment gateways and third party systems
• API development and integrations with multiple third party systems across Laravel and WordPress builds
• Supporting our teams in resolving technical issues and queries spanning our sites
• Overseeing our server and hosting solutions and forming recommendations and improvements where suitable to support the company’s growth ambitions
• Support in the estimating, specifying and technical solutions for all new incoming projects
• Work with the team to develop skills, capabilities and processes
• Take a lead on larger and complex builds spanning industries and project types
