HMRC is made up of Customer Groups which work independently towards a common goal. Our role sits within HMRC’s Chief Digital Product Office, part of the Chief Digital & Information Office (CDIO) Group, which delivers in-house solutions for a broad range of technical and operational issues as well as running key digital services (like the Personal Tax Account and HMRC App) through which our customers interact with us.
As a Senior Performance Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering performance analysis across a portfolio of live digital services.
You'll work closely with Product Managers, User Researchers, Design, Content and Interaction among others in agile product teams to ensure the services we deliver are utilising informed data driven evidence to continuously improve.
You'll use your expertise in analytical toolsets such as SQL, Power BI (DAX), Splunk (Spath), Regex and R/Python to analyse user behaviour, identify trends, and create compelling data stories, driving change through evidence based analytics.
You'll also support and mentor performance analysts directly as well as supporting the wider community, helping to build capability across HMRC.
We are looking for a proactive and analytical individual who is passionate about using data to improve digital services. You will be confident working with complex datasets, influencing stakeholders, and supporting others to develop their skills.

HMRC operates both Flexible and Hybrid Working policies, allowing you to balance your work and personal commitments. We welcome applications from those who need to work a more flexible arrangement and will agree to requests where possible, considering our operational and customer service needs.
We offer a generous leave allowance, starting at 25 days and increasing by a day for every year of qualifying service up to a maximum of 30 days.
