Job description

The Role: I am recruiting a Senior Paraplanner (Technical Specialist) to join the team at Monenti Partners, a leading Financial Planning firm based in central London (WC1). Working in a collaborative, client-focused team you will work closely with Financial Planners, providing advanced technical support, leading research and due diligence, and mentoring junior team members. The Senior Paraplanner will play a key role in delivering exceptional, holistic, independent lifestyle financial planning services to complex, HNW clients, and will be instrumental in developing and implementing robust financial planning solutions.

The successful Senior Paraplanner is likely to be Advanced Diploma qualified (APFS) and hold Chartered status or be qualified to this level of technical excellence through experience. We are keen to consider a career Paraplanner who would like to be involved in building and improving firm-wide processes as well as passing on this knowledge to junior team members, making a significant contribution to a progressive and ambitious firm, while being invested in, valued and rewarded accordingly.

Senior Paraplanner, Responsibilities:
  • Lead the ongoing review of client fact-finds, risk profiles, objectives, and existing arrangements.
  • Build and oversee complex cashflow models and scenario analyses.
  • Draft and review complex suitability reports, recommendation letters, and supporting documentation for complex cases.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Paraplanners and Junior Paraplanners and support their continued professional development.
  • Conduct and document due diligence on complex products (including VCT and Business Relief), investment solutions and platforms.
  • Liaise with providers for in-depth research and relationship management.
  • Ensure all documentation is FCA-compliant and audit-ready.
  • Oversee and quality-check reports produced by other team members.
  • Manage and improve companywide processes workflows on CRM systems (iO, Genovo, etc.).
  • Create and Update documents and templates to enhance team efficiency.
  • Respond to file checks and maintain accurate records and audit trails.
  • Support ongoing client reviews, including portfolio rebalancing, fund switch recommendations, and technical queries.
Senior Paraplanner, Skills and Experience:
  • CII Level 6 Chartered status, or be qualified to this level of technical excellence, through experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years' Paraplanning experience.
  • Expert technical knowledge of pensions, investments, protection, tax wrappers, and experience of working with HNW clients and complex financial products (VCT, BR, trust structures, corporate solutions etc.).
  • An aptitude for technology, with extensive experience with cashflow modelling tools (e.g., Voyant).
  • Strong compliance focus and an in-depth knowledge of FCA regulations, KYC/AML and Consumer Duty principles.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of numeracy and analytical ability.
  • Organisational and workflow management skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent stakeholder management skills.
