Job summary

A regional healthcare trust is looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist specializing in orthopaedics at DRI. The successful candidate will have the necessary qualifications, HCPC registration, and at least 18 months of post-graduate experience in acute settings. Senior Occupational Therapist - Orthopaedics

This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our well established inpatient orthopaedic therapy team at DRI. This post will enable the team to continue to develop and provide an integrated therapy service at DRI.

The Team plays a vital role in providing quality of care for our patients whilst delivering the Trust goals of reducing length of stay, maintaining patient flow and facilitating safe and effective discharge across the orthopaedic inpatient services.

The ability to work flexibly across sites and over 7 days is essential.

The successful candidate will hold the appropriate occupational therapy qualifications, have HCPC registration, appropriate experience of working within the speciality of acute medicine and be able to meet the requirements of the post outlined in the Job Description and Person Specification.

Main duties of the job
  • To undertake occupational therapy assessment and treatment of patients within speciality area.
  • To provide day to day management and support for the Occupational Therapy team within specialist area.
  • To represent Occupational Therapy and contribute to the development of the wider Occupational Therapy service throughout the Trust.
