This is a fantastic opportunity for an OHA looking to step up into a leadership-focused position, managing a small team while delivering a high-quality, proactive Occupational Health service.

You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, support less experienced team members, and work closely with the OH Manager to ensure the service is clinically robust, efficient, and aligned with best practice.

Duties:

  • Manage the daily operations of the Occupational Health service.

  • Carry out health surveillance including audiometry, spirometry, skin checks and fitness-for-work assessments.

  • Deliver case management (phone and face-to-face), producing high-quality management reports.

  • Support, supervise and develop Occupational Health Technicians, Nurses and Administrators.

  • Assist in the training, clinical supervision and development of the OH team.

  • Respond to management enquiries and provide professional OH advice.

  • Maintain accurate OH records in line with departmental protocols.

  • Lead the development of a proactive, high-profile Occupational Health and wellbeing service.

  • Support the OH Manager with clinical governance, service monitoring and audit.

  • Lead or contribute to health promotion initiatives and OH projects.

  • Promote equality, dignity and a positive working environment.

Criteria:

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with valid NMC registration.

  • Occupational Health qualification (Degree/Diploma) desirable.

  • Strong experience in the full OH remit, including case management and health surveillance.

  • Demonstrable leadership skills with experience supervising others.

  • Confident, proactive and able to work autonomously.

  • Excellent communication, report writing and organisational skills.

Team Structure:
You will manage a small but dedicated team consisting of:

  • 1 x Occupational Health Technician

  • 1 x Occupational Health Nurse

  • 1 x Administrator

You will play a key role in shaping the continued development of the OH function and ensuring the successful delivery of services on site.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Up to £44,000 per annum (pro rata).

  • Contributory pension scheme (up to 6%).

  • Life assurance.

  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays (increasing with service).

  • Birthday day off (non-contractual).

  • Discounted gym membership.

  • Cycle to work scheme.

  • Health cashback plan.
