Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related STEM discipline.
  • Understanding of structural mechanics and dynamics principles.
  • Knowledge of material strength behaviour affecting structural performance.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and maintenance of Naval Shock Requirements.
  • Manage Verification and Validation evidence for compliance.
  • Review shock qualification evidence from suppliers.
  • Conduct stress assessments of equipment under shock loading.
  • Plan and execute shock testing activities.
  • Apply processes to produce evidence of compliance.
  • Identify technical issues throughout the product lifecycle.

Skills

Solid understanding of structural mechanics
Knowledge of material strength behaviour
Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Exposure to Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI)

Education

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM discipline
