Job description
Senior Marketing Lead/Manager

Location: Enfield (Brimsdown) – Office Based Role

Salary: £60,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Reports to: Company Directors (with strategic mentorship from NED/CMO)

About Bridgman

Bridgman has been crafting premium home and garden furniture since 1977. Built on three generations of expertise, the brand is known for quality, comfort, and timeless design.

As we look ahead, our focus is clear:

  • Grow revenue more efficiently
  • Scale our Trade channel
  • Strengthen performance marketing across consumer and professional audiences
  • Build long-term brand value, not short-term noise

This role sits at the centre of that ambition.

The Role

This is a career-defining opportunity for an ambitious marketer ready to step up and lead. You will take full ownership of the marketing function, driving revenue growth across both our Consumer (B2C) and Trade (B2B) channels.

You will act as the "engine room" of the business, balancing high-level strategy with hands‑on execution. While you will report to the Directors and have full autonomy over the budget and team, you will also receive weekly high-level mentorship from an experienced CMO. This structure gives you the freedom to lead, with the support to accelerate your professional development.

This is a senior role focused on driving growth across performance marketing and trade, balancing brand building with measurable commercial outcomes. You will own strategy, performance, and execution end‑to‑end, working closely with Directors to shape how marketing drives the business forward.

You’ll lead a team of three (including a Creative Lead), manage external agencies, and act as the internal authority on what’s working, what isn’t, and where we invest next.

Key Responsibilities

Growth & Performance

  • Own performance marketing strategy across Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Pinterest and emerging platforms
  • Work closely with agencies to drive efficient growth, lower CPA, and improve conversion
  • Set clear performance frameworks, KPIs, and testing roadmaps
  • Use data to prioritise spend, channels, and activity

Trade & B2B Growth

  • Lead the growth of the Trade channel (interior designers, hospitality, sports clubs)
  • Develop and execute trade marketing strategy across digital, CRM, LinkedIn, events, and exhibitions
  • Partner with Sales to support lead generation, nurturing, and long-term value
  • Ensure trade marketing spend is measurable, focused, and commercially accountable

Digital & Website

  • Own the 3 websites as a lead generation and revenue‑driving platforms
  • Lead CRO, UX improvements, content optimisation, and technical development via external partners
  • Oversee SEO strategy and organic growth performance

Brand, Content & PR

  • Set clear direction for brand, content, social, and PR activity
  • Ensure output supports commercial objectives, not just awareness
  • Oversee shoots, campaigns, POS, and seasonal calendars
  • Maintain brand consistency across consumer, trade, and showroom touchpoints

Leadership & Operations

  • Act as the primary commercial advisor to the Board regarding market positioning and growth opportunities
  • Champion a 'test and learn' culture, moving the business from opinion-based decisions to data‑backed strategy
  • Lead, develop, and motivate an internal team of 3
  • Manage agencies, freelancers, and partners with clarity and accountabilityOwn the marketing budget and ensure efficient allocation
  • Report performance clearly to Directors and influence wider business strategy
What We're Looking For
  • A 'Player-Coach' mentality - you can define the strategy, but you are happy to jump into the ad accounts, write copy, or set up an email flow when the team needs support
  • You are likely a Marketing Manager looking for your first full leadership role, or an existing Senior Marketing Manager looking for a brand with heritage and scale potential
  • 5+ years marketing experience with 3+ years at management/strategic level (retail, ecommerce, or luxury goods preferred)
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth, not just brand metrics
  • Experience with Trade, B2B, or professional audiences (interiors, hospitality, retail, or similar is a plus)
  • Strong hands‑on understanding of paid media and performance marketing
  • Experience leading external teams/agencies to deliver website and digital projects
  • Commercially minded with strong budget ownershipComprehensive understanding of multi‑channel marketing: PR, social, content, email, POS, Trade, and Showroom
  • Proven people management experience, including managing creative professionals
  • Strategic thinker who can also roll up their sleeves and get hands‑on
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Comfortable in a fast‑paced, family‑owned SME environment
You'll thrive if you:
  • Have a growth mindset and data‑driven approach
  • Are equally comfortable in spreadsheets and creative discussionsCan balance strategic planning with practical execution
  • Are proactive, results‑driven, and commercially aware
  • Are collaborative and work well with Directors and cross-functional teams
  • Embrace the varied, hands‑on nature of working in a SME.

Joining Bridgman is a rare “step up” opportunity for a rising star ready to own the whole picture; strategy, budget, team, and delivery. You’ll have real ownership of your remit within clear business priorities, supported by direct mentorship from a CMO to sharpen your strategic thinking, and your work will have clear, measurable impact in a heritage brand with a start‑up growth mindset. Alongside a competitive salary and performance‑linked bonus, you’ll benefit from 31 days’ annual leave (including bank holidays) and the chance to build, optimise, and scale the marketing function as the business evolves—ideal for someone motivated by growth, ownership, and driving bottom‑line results.

We believe the best team is a diverse team. It's the diverse, kind, and inclusive workforce behind Bridgman that makes us so special. We are committed to being an equal opportunities workplace and employer, this commitment begins with our recruitment process. We can assure all prospective applicants that they will not be discriminated against based on age, race, gender, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or any other status protected by law.
