A leading financial institution in the UK is seeking an experienced individual to manage credit standards within the Business Banking portfolio. You will lead development and governance initiatives, ensuring adherence to policies and building relationships with stakeholders. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in business banking lending, a strong understanding of credit risk processes, and excellent communication skills. Business Unit: Chief Credit Office
Salary range: Circa £100,000 depending on experience
Location: UK Hybrid - with infrequent travel to all hubs as required
Contract type: Permanent
Business Credit Risk Insight & Innovation supports key activity across the organisation to ensure end-to-end credit risk is managed effectively. Our function covers business credit automation decisioning, lending standards, credit strategy, and portfolio analysis and insight. We work collaboratively across the 1st and 2nd Lines of Defence, supporting robust credit risk management and standards compliance.

These include credit and criminal record checks and three years’ worth of satisfactory references. If the role is part of the Senior Manager Regime and Certification Regime, it requires enhanced pre‑employment checks – we’ll ask for six years of regulatory references, and once in the role, you’ll be subject to periodic employment checks.
