Job description

We are looking for an experienced finance professional to join a high-performing professional services business in Wakefield. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the Finance Controller and senior leadership, providing accurate and timely management, financial, and statutory reporting, while fostering strong business partnering across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, reports, and reconciliations.
  • Support balance sheet management, including fixed assets.
  • Provide analysis and financial insight to support decision-making.
  • Assist with statutory accounts, audits, and tax submissions.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and planning.
  • Streamline processes, improve efficiency, and support system implementations.
  • Coach and support finance team members.
Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant experience.
  • Strong management accounting and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of statutory accounting, tax, and audit processes.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and confident in influencing stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills.
  • Experience in legal, insurance, or project-based sectors.
  • Knowledge of regulatory accounts rules or long-term contract accounting.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
