Overview

Senior Maintenance Engineer (Multi skilled, Electrical Bias) – Rugby, Warwickshire

Our Rugby based client has been established globally for over a century and is recognised as a market leader in the manufacture and distribution of niche sector solutions. The role reports to the Engineering and Process Improvement Manager and involves leading and supervising a multi-disciplinary team of maintenance engineers, undertaking both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown maintenance on automated systems and mechanical handling equipment including conveyors, shuttle systems, cranes, robots and vision systems.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a multi-disciplinary maintenance team to perform PPM and reactive maintenance on automated and mechanical handling equipment.
  • Perform reactive fault finding, diagnosis and repair of equipment; analyse breakdowns to determine root cause and prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure KPIs and objectives are met by the team within target parameters.
  • Deliver ongoing continuous improvements to equipment and assist with projects; develop and maintain best practices and share expertise to support junior engineers and apprentices.
  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure on-time project completion while prioritising value for money; undertake site visits to ensure work meets required standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience within an engineering maintenance environment.
  • Electrical maintenance engineering apprenticeship or equivalent; ideally HND or above body of qualifications.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an electrically biased, multi-skilled maintenance engineering environment.
  • Technical knowledge of automation electrical systems, S7 PLCs, inverter-driven systems; Profinet, Profibus, Can-Bus and ASI networks.
  • Experience with barcode scanning networks, manual and automated picking cranes, pallet and tote conveyors; strong experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
