We are seeking an E3 Senior Java Engineer with proven track record in service design and development within our integration middleware space. In this lead role you will contribute to enhancing our member experience by driving technical excellence and promoting best practices across our IT landscape.

What you’ll be doing

As an E3 Senior Java Engineer within our Business Integration Systems team you will serve as a key technical leader across our Banking domains. Leveraging your considerable expertise in service design and development you’ll create and deliver robust solutions that will power our consumer-facing channels well into the future.

You’ll take end-to-end ownership of your platform domain – leading by example through design, development, deployment and continuous improvement. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, project managers, engineers and other technical leads you’ll help align efforts and drive delivery.

You should already be adept at leading multiple project deliveries, navigating complexity and thriving in collaborative environments but added to this you will also play a mentorship role, sharing your knowledge with both in-house and partner teams. Your practical experience and strategic insight will help shape the capabilities of a high-performing technology organisation.

About you
  • Deep expertise in designing and developing high-performance, resilient, scalable, and secure middleware systems
  • Accomplished in Java (ideally with SpringBoot or similar framework) with a solid foundation in object-oriented programming
  • Substantial Kubernetes experience (Istio Service Mesh experience would be advantageous) leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments
  • Leadership experience with a proven ability to guide, inspire and empower development teams
  • Skilled at engaging stakeholders across functions and levels, using clear communication and strategic influence to foster alignment and deliver great results
  • Experience with CICD tooling such as Harness and Helm
  • An understanding of security concepts such as TLS, certificates, JWTs, OAuth and OIDC authentication protocols
  • Experience in integrating systems across a wide range of technologies, including Microsoft, IBM, SAP, Unisys and cloud-based services
