JNCC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Support Analyst to play a pivotal role in its IT Operations and Cyber Security Team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the protection and enhancement of the UK's natural environment through innovative technology solutions. The successful candidate will provide expert second and third-line support, manage critical infrastructure, and collaborate across departments to ensure secure, efficient, and future-ready IT services. If you're passionate about technology, cyber security, and making a real-world impact, we want to hear from you. The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical foundation and a proactive approach to IT support and cyber security.

Essential qualifications include advanced expertise in identity management using Azure Active Directory, implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication, and configuration of conditional access policies. Strong skills in endpoint management are required, particularly with Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Intune for mobile and device compliance. You will have good working knowledge of Co-pilot and the functionality it can undertake to improve workflow for staff members as part of your M365 experience. Candidates should also demonstrate proficiency in configuring and managing Windows Defender, applying security best practices, and responding to threats. A solid understanding of Microsoft Azure fundamentals—including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and virtual machine deployment—is key, along with experience in managing Office 365 environments, VPNs, and network infrastructure.

Desirable skills include the ability to create intelligent forms using Microsoft Power Automate. A commitment to continuous learning, collaboration, and delivering high-quality support services is essential for success in this role.

Advanced identity management skills in both on-premises Windows networks and M365 cloud environments (including Entra-ID, Multi-Factor Authentication, and conditional/compliance policies) are required. Strong endpoint management experience, particularly with Microsoft Intune for managing and securing Windows and Apple devices. Working knowledge of configuring, managing and monitoring Defender for endpoints on Windows-based devices. In-depth knowledge of administrating and managing a Windows 2016/19 domain. Proficiency in Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, virtual machine deployment, resource groups) and Office 365 environment management. Expertise in designing, building, and managing SharePoint Online sites hosted in the M365 environment, document libraries, and permissions structures, including integration with Teams and other M365 services. Advanced Co-pilot skills, including prompt engineering, agent creation, and the ability to train and support colleagues in Co-pilot adoption and workflow optimisation. Desirable: Experience with Microsoft Power Automate for intelligent forms and workflow automation.

Work Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience working on a service desk, resolving 2nd/3rd line calls.
  • At least 2 years' experience working within a technical team managing endpoint devices, Windows network servers, and network data storage devices.
  • Experience in researching and project managing the deployment of new systems to increase network efficiencies.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, upskilling, and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • Ability to contribute to the team's skills matrix and participate in structured training and mentorship programmes.
  • Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with colleagues across IT Operations and other departments.
Security and Eligibility
  • Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check.
  • People working with government assets must complete baseline personnel security standard checks.
  • Nationality requirements: This job is broadly open to UK nationals, Irish nationals, Commonwealth nationals with right to work in the UK, EU/EEA/Swiss/Norway/Iceland/Liechtenstein nationals with settled or pre-settled status under the EUSS, and certain other categories as specified.
