Senior Infrastructure Platform Engineer
Job Description

As a Senior Infrastructure Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining modern IT infrastructure both on‑premise and in the cloud across various locations globally. You will be involved in efforts to automate processes, enhance system performance, and ensure the reliability and security of our systems enterprise‑wide. This role requires a deep understanding of modern IT infrastructure, strong MS Windows and virtualization skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable IT infrastructure solutions across multiple regions in data centers and the cloud.
  • Provide escalation support for complex Windows Server issues, collaborating with operations and support teams to resolve incidents efficiently.
  • Provide level 1 support for Linux Server issues, collaborating with operations and support teams to resolve incidents efficiently.
  • Define and implement security best practices, hardening guidelines, and compliance standards for Windows Server environment.
  • Communicate and enforce Windows Server standards across teams and stakeholders to ensure consistent implementation and compliance.
  • Participate in automation projects to optimize system performance and reduce manual intervention globally.
  • Work with stakeholders at global sites to understand technology requirements and deliver implementation plans.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and tools for automated deployment, monitoring, and management of systems.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions across different locations.
  • Ensure the security, availability, and performance of IT systems globally.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in best practices and automation techniques.
  • Modernize data center operations to improve efficiency and incorporate the latest technologies.
  • Ensure security and industry standards are being met through automation.
  • Ensure the reliability of server and storage infrastructure, including regular maintenance and performance optimization.
  • Manage and optimize virtualization and hyper‑converged infrastructure to ensure high availability and scalability.
  • Ensure comprehensive backups, effective monitoring, capacity planning, and thorough documentation for all data centers globally.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, virtualization platforms, and hyper‑converged infrastructure, with a strong focus on automation.
  • Deep expertise in Windows Server administration, operations, escalation support, and security best practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
  • Demonstrable experience with operations in at least one cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) a plus.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

*Note: This role will require frequent travel to our data Centers in Canary Wharf and Slough.
