TheNational Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) is seeking a friendly,organised, and conscientious Senior Impact Officer to join their growing team.
The successful candidate will undertake a range ofimpact related activities, and will be comfortable working across various tasksat any one time. They will support managers with evaluations and impactassessments of NIHR schemes and programmes and to develop impact products
Beresponsible for identification and production of impact case studies, impactportfolio of NIHR Academy schemes and programmes;
Supportthe management and development of impact assessment methods and logic modelsfor the NIHR Academy programmes;
Writereports and working draft papers as required;
Assistin providing timely responses to various information requests, includingparliamentary questions. This involves researching and reporting on researchoutputs;
Beresponsible for providing administrative support to Impact Managers andAssistant Director of the Evaluation, Business Intelligence and Impact Team.
Beprepared to travel within the UK for the attendance of meetings andconferences.

SupportingImpact development and management
Responsiblefor developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure that robust andeffective administrative processes are used; Prepare draft guidance forImpact assessment pathways for programmes and awards;
Undertakedefined research and evaluation into NIHR Academy supported programmes asrequired;
Responsibilityfor tracking and classification of applications;
Responsibilityfor production of draft case studies, impact portfolio of NIHR Academyschemes and programmes;
SupportImpact managers liaise with external stakeholders and other funders tomonitor and track progression of NIHR Academy award holders.
Thepost holder will be required to assist the impact manager to manage change inresponse to external events and new policies; this may require thereformulation and adjustment of plans and strategies to ensure that theimpact assessments for programmes and projects in the post holders portfolioremain fit for purpose;
Supportthe management and development of impact assessment methods for the portfolioof NIHR Academy programmes;
AssistImpact Managers in planning the annual cycle and timing of Impact reports andassessments in the post holders area of responsibility;
Writingreports and working draft papers as required; and
Communicationsand Engagement
Thepost holder will:
Liaisewith queries and occasional complaints about career tracking and impactassessments by telephone, email, and in person, escalating unresolved queriesto the impact manager and assistant director as necessary
PubliciseNIHR Academy activities through attendance at some external meetings,seminars and conferences
Communicateand work with a range of people nationally at all levels of seniority bothinternal and external to the NIHR Academy, in line with DHSC policies
Developand maintain strong and positive working relationships within HigherEducation Institutions (HEIs), NHS Trusts and other health-relatedorganisations
Workclosely with the wider NIHR Academy Evaluation and Impact team to ensure thatthey have sufficient Impact information to be able to respond quickly toInformation Requests, Parliamentary questions and long term Analysis. Thisinvolves researching and reporting on research outputs
Liaisewith members of the NIHR Academy Executive Senior Management Team and AwardsManagers, and University Hospital of Leeds NHS Trust staff, in order to meetresponsibilities and undertake duties effectively
