Qualifications

Job description

Experience required…

Essential :

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, or relevant degree with compensatory knowledge, abilities and skills
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Proven understanding of highway engineering and design standards, and the ability to translate and communicate these to stakeholders
  • Substantial understanding of DRMB, MCHW and TSM / TSRGD.
  • Be confident to work independently, with minimal to no supervision within the team.
  • Experience in checking and monitoring the work of others as well as providing guidance to junior members of staff.
  • Specialist in the design process of at least one of these disciplines : pavement, VRS or traffic signs / markings.
  • Proficient in producing : Specification of Works, Pre-Construction Packs, H&S files, Registers, Risk assessments and Bill of Quantities.
  • Strong understanding of CDM 2015 and how to identify, eliminate or mitigate health and safety risks and hazards.
  • Able to attend an office at least 3 times a week.
  • Have very high standards for quality of work and drawing presentation.
  • Able to lead meeting with the client, contractors and key stakeholders.
  • Project Management experience and ability to report back to the client.
  • Experienced in AutoCAD Civils 3D and 2D.
  • Able to produce Traffic Signs designs and road markings.
  • An understanding of the DMRB departure process.
  • Knowledge of the NEC4 contracts and Compensation Events and Early Warnings.
  • Desirable :

  • Previous National Highways experience.
