This position is responsible for the preparation of various business segment financial information, including budgets, forecasts, and monthly reporting packages. This position will also provide timely financial insights on both existing and proposed business segment initiatives.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepares annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly financial reports and reviews results with business segment financial leadership
  • Creates ad hoc templates, reports, and analysis to improve financial performance
  • Aggregates large sets of data from multiple sources (General ledger, Excel) to identify trends/variances.
  • Reviews and updates regulatory and government annual reports/surveys/census.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Works with Accounting team to ensure an accurate, efficient and timely monthly financial close process
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive Knowledge of general financial terminology
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Highly proficient with accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently (with limited supervision)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
  • Three to five years of accounting experience required.

Skills needed for new hire:

• Accounting knowledge to support monthly financial review during close.

• A working knowledge of NetSuite and NSPB/HFM/Smartview strongly preferred

• Comfortable in adaptive environments with changing deadlines/processes/tasks

• Can translate numbers/results from accounting into a story that helps guide operational decisions (industry-specific knowledge to be built over first 3-6 months)

• Knows how to prioritize and multi-task

• Driven to continually improve processes rather than maintain a “that’s how we’ve always done it” mindset.

• Proactive approach to work needs and requirements.

• Curious about variance and root cause analysis

• Team player willing to support broader department projects as needed.

• Invests in keeping and growing a strong team culture

• Willing to flex schedule in support of priority projects and deadlines as needed
