Job summary

A leading Utilities Contractor in the UK is seeking a freelance Senior Estimator to support pricing for Water Treatment Upgrades, Pumping Stations, and New Water Mains. Based in East Sussex with flexible home working, you'll provide estimating support on bids, assist the Senior Management Team with risk management, and ensure accurate cost data. An attractive day rate is available with the possibility of a long-term contract starting in early Jan 2026 or sooner. Interested candidates should send their CV to the hiring manager.

Qualifications

• Experience Estimating in Water related projects within the Main Contracting sector.
• Background in Quantity Surveying or Estimating.
• Ability to provide estimating support on bids and contracts.

Job description

Due to an increase within their Water sector, our client, a top Utilities Contractor in the UK has the need for a freelance Senior Estimator to support pricing the works which include Water Treatment Upgrades, Pumping Stations and New Water Mains.

Based from their offices in East Sussex with some home working also your duties will include providing estimating support with bids and contracts to ensure robust pricing, risk management and governance, assist and advise the Senior Management Team on commercial influences and risks around any bids and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to produce accurate and timely estimates/cost data.

To be considered you will either come from a QS or Estimating background and will have experience Estimating on Water related schemes within the Main Contracting sector.

In return, a top day rate is on offer along with a start in early Jan 2026 or earlier with a long term contract on offer also.
