We’re looking for a Senior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join a dynamic food manufacturing environment where safety, compliance, and sustainability are truly embedded in the culture. Responsibilities
  • Champion safety: Embed a proactive, positive safety culture across the site.
  • Drive compliance: Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies in line with UK legislation and industry standards.
  • Lead and advise: Conduct risk assessments, audits, and hazard identification programmes, coaching teams to adopt best practice.
  • Educate and engage: Deliver toolbox talks, training sessions, and engaging safety communications on topics such as manual handling, fire safety, PPE, and emergency response.
  • Investigate and improve: Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and share learnings across the business.
  • Promote sustainability: Drive environmental initiatives, reduce waste, and improve energy efficiency.
  • Report and communicate: Produce compliance reports, liaise with regulators, and keep stakeholders informed of performance.
About You
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) with strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation – essential.
  • Proven experience in EHS within food manufacturing, FMCG, or another highly regulated sector.
  • A confident communicator able to influence, coach, and inspire colleagues at every level.
  • Analytical and solutions-focused, with the ability to turn data and insights into meaningful action.
  • Experienced in audits, incident investigations, and driving behavioural safety improvements.
  • Hands-on, adaptable, and passionate about creating a safe, compliant, and positive workplace.
