Job summary

Turner & Townsend in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Engineering Design Manager to lead multi-disciplinary design inputs on critical infrastructure projects. You'll ensure designs are buildable, compliant, and efficient, working closely with clients and project teams from early concept through delivery.

The role requires at least 5 years in design leadership across sectors, familiarity with BIM and CAD (AutoCAD/Revit), and Chartered Engineer status preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing design through the full project lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of integrated design delivery and consultant performance.
• Knowledge of BIM and common data environments.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical assurance, evaluate constructability, and manage design interfaces.
• Manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams across consultants and partners.
• Collaborate with stakeholders including clients, managers, and contractors.
• Drive innovative, practical engineering solutions that meet requirements.
• Embed health, safety and environmental considerations in design.
• Ensure integration across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical domains.
