Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an Engineering Design Manager in the UK to lead multi-disciplinary design input on critical infrastructure projects. You will ensure designs are buildable, compliant, innovative and efficient, guiding interfaces from concept through delivery and coordinating with clients and consultants.

This role offers exposure to prestigious projects across data centres, manufacturing, defence, rail and real estate, with a supportive team and clear career development.

Qualifications

• Strong experience managing design through the full project lifecycle across sectors.
• Knowledge and experience of BIM and common data environments.
• Degree qualified in engineering (Electrical) or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Project Manager to manage the agreed contract with external design consultants and contractors.
• Lead technical assurance, review constructability, and manage design interfaces.
• Manage multi-disciplinary teams of engineers from consultants and partners.
• Collaborate with technical, operational, maintenance, and strategic stakeholders.
• Liaise with Clients, Engineering Managers, Project Managers, Contractors and Consultants on issues, scope changes, risks.
• Drive development of innovative, practical and sustainable engineering solutions meeting requirements.
• Embed health, safety and environmental considerations into all engineering/design solutions.
• Ensure integration across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical functions.
• Ensure constructability, maintainability and reliability across asset lifecycle.
