Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineering Design Manager to lead design input across multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects in the UK. You will work with clients to ensure designs are buildable, compliant, innovative and efficient from concept through delivery.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive experience in civil/structural design, and familiarity with BIM and data environments.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years' experience managing design through the full lifecycle.
Degree qualified in civil or structural engineering.
Chartered Engineer status preferred (ICE/IStructE).
Knowledge of BIM and common data environments.

Responsibilities

Lead design input on multi-disciplinary projects from early concept to delivery.
Manage external design consultants and contractors under the project contract.
Oversee constructability reviews and design interfaces.
Collaborate with technical, operational, maintenance, and strategic stakeholders.
Liaise with clients, engineering managers, project managers, and consultants on scope, risks and changes.
Drive innovative, practical, and sustainable engineering solutions meeting requirements.
Embed health, safety and environmental considerations in all designs.
Ensure integration across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical domains.
