Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an Engineering Design Manager to lead multi-disciplinary design input from concept to delivery on national infrastructure projects. You will work with clients to ensure designs are buildable, compliant, and efficient, while coordinating with contractors and consultants.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in design management, strong BIM/CAD capabilities, and Chartered Engineer status preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing design through the full project lifecycle.
• Understanding of integrated design delivery and managing consultant performance.
• Knowledge and experience of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and common data environments.
• Degree qualified, or equivalent, in engineering discipline (Mechanical or Building Services).
• Chartered Engineer status preferred.
• Strong construction knowledge and customer satisfaction focus.
• Experience with CAD (AutoCAD or Revit).
• Excellent communication with clients and staff.
• Self-driven and results-oriented with time management and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design input on multi-disciplinary projects from concepts through to delivery.
• Manage external design consultants and contracts with the Project Manager.
• Oversee multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver project solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and design coordinators across disciplines.
• Liaise with clients, managers, contractors and consultants on issues, scope changes and risks.
• Drive innovative, practical and sustainable engineering solutions that meet requirements.
• Embed health, safety and environmental considerations into design solutions.
• Ensure integration across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical functions.
