About the Role

We are working with a UK-based renewable energy developer delivering complex infrastructure projects across battery energy storage (BESS) and wider power generation. As part of continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide high-level technical and commercial engineering expertise across a portfolio of utility-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior-level technical input across high-voltage electrical systems and grid-connected assets
  • Support grid connection processes, including technical submissions, compliance assessments, and coordination with network stakeholders
  • Review and challenge electrical designs, studies, and technical documentation produced by consultants and contractors
  • Contribute to the selection and evaluation of equipment, technologies, and delivery partners for grid-connected projects
  • Support projects through development, detailed design, construction, and commissioning phases
  • Identify technical and delivery risks, contributing to mitigation strategies and commercial decision-making
  • Provide technical input into contracts, scopes of work, and employer requirements
  • Support technical due diligence activities and respond to third-party technical queries
  • Ensure designs and delivery activities align with applicable UK standards and safety requirements
About You
  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • Extensive experience working on grid-connected energy or infrastructure projects in the UK
  • Strong background in several of the following areas :
  • High-voltage systems and substations
  • Power system studies and grid compliance
  • Protection, control, or harmonic performance
  • Grid integration of large electrical assets
  • Comfortable reviewing detailed engineering work and making independent technical judgments
  • Experience working with contractors, consultants, and equipment suppliers
  • Commercially aware, with an understanding of how technical decisions impact cost, risk, and delivery
