Role Overview

This growing consultancy is delivering high-impact solutions to the UK’s most complex national security challenges. They’re now looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help shape and maintain the infrastructure that underpins critical projects.

  • Location: Bristol, Cheltenham, or Manchester (3-4 days office-based)

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Designing and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and private cloud environments.
  • Building, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters, alongside tools like Docker and Helm.
  • Automating processes for build, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Developing policies for compliance, security, and disaster recovery.
  • Driving optimisation for performance, availability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to knowledge sharing across the team.
Main Skills Needed
  • Strong background in DevOps with hands-on cloud experience.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (e.g. Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm and related technologies.
  • Experience designing secure, scalable, and highly available systems.
  • Comfortable working in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills.
  • Eligible for high-level UK security clearance (British passport + 5 years residency).
