A leading engineering firm in Essex is seeking a Senior Design Engineer with a mechanical bias. The role involves significant design responsibility, working on residential projects. Ideal candidates should have at least 10 years of experience in the building services industry, with a preference for those from contracting or consultancy backgrounds. This is a permanent position offering career advancement, competitive salary, and benefits such as a pension scheme and generous holiday allowances.
Our client is an established mechanical and electrical contractor based in North Essex. They specialise in residential new build schemes throughout London and the South East with projects ranging from small housing developments to 300+ unit sites including high rise blocks of multi-occupancy.
In their 25 years of trading, they have worked with a range of contractors including one off larger developers to some of the countries largest house builders.
They are now looking for Senior Design Engineer with a mechanical bias but ideally with some electrical knowledge, there is the potential to move into a Design Managers role and ideally they are looking for a candidate who would want to take this managerial direction.
The Design Engineer position is 'hands on' and will involve a heavy design involvement, as well as integrating with company estimators on new and existing projects. Candidates will need to demonstrate a broad knowledge of the new homes industry and will need to have obtained design experience in a variety of sectors, including bespoke housing, multi residential and commercial. The position is mechanically biased, candidates will however, need to demonstrate a basic understanding of electrical systems and the design principles involved. This is a permanent position with strong career prospects.
Whilst based in the North Essex office the Design Engineer may be required to travel to site on occasion and therefore, a full driving licence is essential.
