Overview

Senior Data Scientist focusing on IBM's public sector and defense initiatives. In this pivotal position, you will harness your data and analytics proficiency to tackle complex business challenges, spearhead data-driven decisions, refine business operations, and nurture a climate of innovation within our AI Analytics & Data Science team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of predictive models and data-driven solutions for business optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data-driven insights into business strategies.
• Utilize optimization tools (IBM CPLEX, Gurobi) and statistical analysis packages (SPSS, SAS, R, Python) to derive actionable insights.
• Proficient in PowerBI, Python, and SQL, with specific expertise in Databricks.
• Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proven ability to direct cross-functional teams and effectively manage stakeholder expectations.
• Demonstrated success in promoting data-driven decisions and business enhancements.
• Skilled in creating and interpreting data visualizations using PowerBI.
• Familiarity with web-based analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics.
• Understanding of Data Lake functionalities and architecture; solid relational database skills can serve as a suitable substitute.
• Capable of handling substantial data volumes, with a minimum requirement of processing over 5 million rows.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
• Familiarity with leading cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Knowledgeable about big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark.
• Professional background in areas such as supply chain management, pricing, risk assessment, or fraud detection.
• Right to work in the UK and ability to obtain UK government security clearance. Visa sponsorship is not offered.
