Ready to take your analytical career to the next level? Looking for the opportunity to make a tangible impact while building your strategic consultancy expertise?

Smithers Information is seeking a commercially minded and hands-on Senior Consulting Analyst to join our high-performing consultancy team.

At Smithers Information, we deliver expert insights, market forecasts, and strategic consultancy to clients navigating innovation, market growth, and disruption across the packaging, paper and print industries. We’re part of the globally respected Smithers Group, with offices in the UK, US and China, and a reputation for excellence, innovation, and deep technical expertise.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is ambitious, intellectually curious and comfortable operating in the grey space of market ambiguity. You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team that partners with industry-leading organisations to help shape their strategy, enter new markets, and launch innovative products.

We’re looking for someone who is not only analytically sharp but who’s happy to roll up their sleeves, get into the data, challenge assumptions, and build credible, compelling insights that drive real business decisions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the development of robust market sizing and forecasting models
  • Conducting desk and telephone research to identify key trends, players, and opportunities
  • Translating complex data into compelling narratives and actionable recommendations
  • Producing high-impact presentations and reports, supported by clear and visually engaging data visuals
  • Developing and defending research findings to senior stakeholders and clients
  • Designing and pricing project approaches for consultancy proposals
  • Shaping market surveys and quantitative research tools
  • Maintaining and evolving our proprietary market databases and scenario models

Who we’re looking for:

  • A confident, commercially aware analyst with at least 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • A degree in a relevant field, with strong academic and analytical credentials
  • Comfortable with Excel-based modelling and scenario planning
  • Articulate, persuasive and structured in both written and verbal communication
  • Able to juggle multiple workstreams, collaborate across teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with industry frameworks (Porter’s Five Forces, SWOT etc.)
  • Knowledge of the packaging and/or print industries is a bonus, but not essential

Why join us?

We believe in growing talent, and we invest in it. This role offers genuine progression opportunities for someone willing to put in the work and grow with the business. You’ll be exposed to a wide variety of projects and sectors, work alongside experienced consultants, and build a portfolio of strategic client engagements that can shape your career.

In return, we offer:

  • An early finish on Fridays
  • Hybrid working with 2 days remote
  • Private medical cover
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Retail discount platform
  • Employee wellbeing programme (incl. virtual PT, counselling, nutritional advice)
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Ongoing learning and development
  • Regular team socials and a friendly, inclusive culture
