Senior Community Staff Nurse

Band 6 • 37.5 Hours per week • Permanent

Responsibilities

Locala is seeking an experienced, motivated, and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Community Nursing Network as a Senior Community Nurse. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a leadership role, supporting our teams to deliver exceptional care across North Kirklees and Greater Huddersfield.

As a Band 6 Senior Community Nurse, you will combine clinical expertise with leadership skills to ensure safe, effective, and person-centred care. You will act as a role model, mentor, and decision-maker, supporting colleagues and driving improvements in patient outcomes.

  • Leading and coordinating care for complex patients, ensuring high standards of clinical practice.
  • Providing guidance, supervision, and mentorship to Band 5 nurses and wider team members.
  • Delegating tasks effectively to ensure efficient use of resources and timely care delivery.
  • Supporting service development initiatives and contributing to quality improvement projects.
  • Acting as a point of escalation for clinical decision‑making and safeguarding concerns.
  • Promoting self‑care and independence for patients with long‑term conditions.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions.
What we’re looking for

Our service operates between 8am and 9pm, with core hours of 8am–5pm. You will work a minimum of one weekend in four and two late shifts (1pm–9pm) over a four‑week period.
