Salary and Terms

Salary: £26,232 - £31,349 per annum pro rata dependent on skill & experience - upper levels awarded for highly experienced candidates

Contract type: Fixed-term for 1 year

Working pattern: Part-time

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, develop and deliver family inclusion services & courses, incorporating an ESCC funded Family Learning programme for children 0 to 5, baby & toddler groups and activities for children 5 to 11 years, such as the HAF (Holiday Activities & Food) programme.
  • Identify family learning needs and work with others to create and design appropriate courses, evaluate their impact, and manage the budget spend and reporting on each course and activity.
  • Support children and their families/carers learning to promote improvements in social, listening and creative skills, speech and language, physical activity and behaviours within a child-centred approach.
  • Engage in community consultation across funded project delivery, reporting, evaluation, and coordination & delivery of courses (e.g., cooking, craft and outdoor activities such as walks and Forest and/or Beach School).
  • Contribute to funding proposals and bids for SCDA children & family work or broader family inclusion initiatives; ensure quality of provision and that services run to agreed schedules and budgets.
  • Plan and manage your time effectively, maintaining a flexible and positive approach to family & community engagement.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience as a Senior Community Development Worker or equivalent role with demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver family inclusion projects.
  • Experience in budgeting, reporting and evaluation of funded activities.
  • DBS check required; car owner and driver preferred.

Benefits & Additional Information

We offer a flexible approach to delivery where possible, annual leave of 23 days per year pro rata plus bank holidays, sick pay from the start (increasing with service), additional sick pay for required operations and recovery, a pension scheme, bereavement leave, and managers who are available to you, plus a day off for your birthday.

This post is subject to a DBS check and being a car owner and driver is preferred.
